Working with projects

One connection covers every project you can open in the workspaces you picked. Ask Claude to **list your projects** first; it calls `list_projects` and then passes the project’s id as `project_id` to the other tools.

File uploads

Claude uploads a file with `upload_file` in one call, with no setup: from a public link to the file (up to 50 MB) or as the file’s bytes in base64 (up to 10 MB). Then it calls `wait_for_upload` until processing finishes.

A link must point to the file itself. A share page, such as a Google Drive or OneDrive link, returns a web page and is rejected; use a direct download link instead.

Larger files from the code sandbox

For a file over these limits, Claude can use `request_file_upload` instead and send the file from its code sandbox straight to fileAI storage. The sandbox can only reach domains you allow, so add your instance’s storage domain once. `upload_file` and every other tool work without it.

Open Capabilities

In Claude, go to **Settings → Capabilities**. On Team and Enterprise plans, an admin does this in **Admin settings → Capabilities**.

Turn on code execution

Make sure **Code execution and file creation** is on.

Allow the storage domain

Under **Allow network egress**, choose **Package managers and specific domains** and add the domain for your instance.

Want the narrowest rule? Allow only the fileAI bucket host instead: `bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com` (Default), `au-bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com`, `sg-bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com` or `jp-bluesheets-prod-file-upload-bucket.s3.ap-northeast-1.amazonaws.com`.

Switch or disconnect

*   **Add another workspace:** connect again and tick it. New projects inside a connected workspace need nothing; Claude sees them as soon as you can.
*   **Disconnect:** in fileAI, open **Profile → Connected apps** and click **Revoke**. Claude loses access right away.
*   **Removed from a project or workspace:** Claude loses access to it within a minute.

Removing the connector in Claude alone doesn’t revoke access. Revoke it in fileAI under **Profile → Connected apps**.

The fileAI page says the request is invalid

Start again from **Connect** in Claude. The link expires after a few minutes.

Claude says your fileAI connection has expired or is no longer valid

Reconnect fileAI in Claude’s connector settings, then try again.

A project is missing in Claude, or Claude says it isn’t in this connection

Check you can open it in the fileAI app with the same account. If you can, its workspace wasn’t selected when you signed in: disconnect and reconnect fileAI in Claude’s connector settings, and select that workspace.

`upload_file` says the file is a web page

The link opens a page, not the file. Use a direct download link.

An upload from the code sandbox fails with a proxy error, such as `CONNECT ... 403`

Allow your instance’s storage domain, or use `upload_file` for files within its limits. See [Larger files from the code sandbox](#larger-files-from-the-code-sandbox).
